South African international striker Delron Buckley has been loaned by German Bundesliga side Dortmund to Swiss league runners-up Basel until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old Buckley, who has 14 caps, joined Dortmund in June 2005 but failed to score in 28 matches played last season.He was previously with German sides Bochum and Bielefeld, playing 167 games and netting 25 goals.
"Basel have agreed to take on the player's salary and pay the loan fee. The deal includes options for the future," a statement issued by Dortmund said.
The Durban-born player, who represented his country at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, had been on trial at English Premiership club Everon last month.Basel are currently sixth in the league.
